Rapture

from Light Speed Ahead by Mike Dragon

/

lyrics

Drifting river-bound, caught in the banks 'long the way,
sheltered and tucked away, safe from the heat of the day,
where we pray for the moment again, and we wait for the moment again.

High-walled canopy exposed to the fire underneath,
burned down hideaway, scorched in the heat of the day,
so we pray for that shelter again, and we wait that the rain come again.

Petty pride smitten again, crooked spine stiffened again,
there's always a light on,
so i wrote the rapture down to see how the words would sound,
it left such an empty hole, as nothing here can fill the shoes of the soul.

Stranded and thrown away, wanderin' the roads 'long the way,
renewed, determined to pick up the pace back to you,
so we pray for the rapture again, and we wait for directions again.

One taste is never enough, no, one taste is never enough,
and all i pray is to give this bliss away oh so freely,
cos one taste isn't ever enough.
There's always a light on.

So i wrote the rapture down to see how the words would sound,
it left such an empty hole,
as nothing here compares to the...
nothing here eludes to the...
nothing here can fill the shoes of the soul.
